Our mission is to make survivors of spousal abuse free from the adverse effects of abuse and to see to it that spousal abuse comes to an end through education, counseling, advocacy and service delivery.

 

At Bendoweh Foundation, we believe prevention is better than cure. Spousal abuse is not being taught in school. Yet some of those children are not only from abusive homes where they are being tortured and confused, but they are also growing up to choose life partners. Being aware of spousal abuse through Bendoweh Foundation, they will be able to avoid marry abusers in the future thereby breaking its cycle.

Also, society does not understand that abuse is designed to distort the victim's view of reality and of God thereby preventing the victim from living a dignified life. We believe it is more important to make the victim free mentally to be able to take charge of her life and then be able to decide whether to live or stay in the relationship if only her mind or life is not in danger.
